Remember book orders are due today, Friday, October 26.

Please come out and support the Halloween Carnival tomorrow, Sat. 11-3. It will be fabulous! Mrs. Strand has gone to an amazing amount of work to put it together and I am confident it will be the best yet! (not that the others weren't great! They are always fun!)

On Wednesday, October 31, we will have a class "Halloween party". Students are not allowed to wear costumes to school. I am asking each child to bring a bag of candy that we can use in a 'candy sort'. We will be counting, graphing, sorting and recording candy data. (I know, it's really part of our math core but the kids think it's a party!) We will read Halloween stories, color a book for our read-a-thon (I hope you have a special book bag or box) and go to library. It's a short day but we will pack it with fun!
Thanks for your support, I appreciate you all so much. I love your children and look forward every day to the time I get to spend with them. Thanks for sharing them with me!

Fieldtrip fun and Fall follies

We finished our marathon fieldtrip week! Whew! Even though we had a slight delay of 3 days it was totally worth it! Thanks to the fabulous parents that went with us on our adventures this week.

*Remember we will be out of school Thur-Mon for our Harvest Break. We will come back to school on       Tuesday, October 23.
*Homework this week will be on Tuesday. However, I am sending a book on Wednesday to color and keep at home for the read-a-thon (I hope you have a special book bag or box).
*Retakes for school pictures are on Tues. 16.
*Centers have now started (albeit slowly) we have them Mon, Tue, and Fri.
*Library is on Wed. return books then.
*Reading folders are due back on Mondays.
*The ziplock (book in a bag) is exchanged on Fridays. You may return it as soon as you read it. Don't forget to initial before returning.
*Red Ribbon Week is NEXT week.
     Tuesday-pajama day
     Wednesday-wear red day
     Thursday-dress like a rock star
     Friday-crazy hair day

Have a fun safe holiday break. Thank you for sharing your amazing children with me. I love them so much and learn from them every day!

We are having ANOTHER fieldtrip next week!
Here is our schedule for the week:
Monday-fieldtrip to SUU art gallery
Tuesday-fieldtrip to the bus garage to learn about bus safety
     (we will also start centers that day)
Wednesday-early out (regular school schedule)
Thursday-PE, Music (regular school schedule)
Friday-fieldtrip to Judd's Pumpkin Patch (bring $1.00 donation)

If you want to order a school shirt for your child or yourself the orders are due in the office by 4:00 on Friday, October 5.

October book order will come home next week. If you want to preview you can look at them online at scholastic.com

We are finally ready to start centers. The students are really excited. We are looking forward to having our parent volunteers in our classroom.
